Checked relay (cleaned all fuses/contacts while at it), swapped fuel pump relay with fan relay, both working. Ran across this post from long ago: Link About to drain tank.....

Siphoned 4 gallons out of tank last night, will know soon. If $50 pump in that link I saved (for some reason) is a match, it'll save a week and over $200.

From the part number supplied by Biker_Bob (E8335), I got a new pump for about $85US. The stock T1240330 pump currently lists for $254+tax/ship; new pump is an exact match. (They had a $50 pump, too, but this one is made better and includes everything necessary.)
New E16006 pump is identical, all stock hoses/connectors/brackets are a perfect fit.

Pump relay clicks (#2 in diagram), continuity to pump connector was good, no mystery as to failure. Surprised to find four bolts holding fuel level sensor were loose, tho.
Still can't warm to the idea of having bungs on BOTTOM of tank, but it is what it is. Why they never leak is a mystery to me. Replacement cost a little over $100 for pump and filter, took about 8 hours. I owe Biker_Bob big time.
